Volunteer with Us
Volunteers help us keep the Library going. Volunteers manage the Friends of the Library semiannual book sales and work throughout the library system shelving, checking reports, teen advisory groups, and more. To volunteer with the library, register through the City’s Neighbor to Neighbor site here. Click the box for Libraries.
We also are accepting Master in Library Science students who are looking for internships.
School children 15 and up doing community service hours, “resume builders,” and others who want to help out are encouraged to call 646-7223.
If your volunteer service consists of court-directed community service hours, the Library is unable to provide assistance.
All hiring for the Richmond Public Library is done through the City of Richmond. You must apply online through the City of Richmond’s Human Resources Department. For a current listing of all open positions with the City, please click here. Once there, you can limit the positions based on department.
