Make & Take Halloween Jars
All Day, Oct. 20 – Nov. 2, East End Library
Turn your mason jar into a ghost, mummy, or vampire! Then use it to hold your pencils and pens. What better use for a scary monster than to protect your writing utensils? Be sure to stop into the East End Branch anytime between October 20th to November 2nd for your very own make & take kit with everything you’ll need for this fun craft!

My Heart Is A Chainsaw: First Chapters Book Discussion

First Chapters is a program where we read the first chapter of a recent book together, out loud, then discuss it. This month we are reading the beginning of My Heart is a Chainsaw by Stephen Graham Jones and discussing Psychological Horror and Books That Haunt. Library staff supplements each session with some readers’ advisory on related titles, read-alikes, or genre guidance. New and longtime readers alike are welcome!
Poe Museum Presents: The Tell-Tale Heart Mock Trial

Court is in session at the Library Park! A speaker from The Poe Museum will discuss Poe’s life and perform a dramatic reading of “The Tell-Tale Heart.” The audience will then engage in a lively debate in the form of a mock trial to determine whether or not the defendant is guilty or not guilty by reason of insanity.
