Do you HOOPLA?
Hoopla is a groundbreaking digital media service that allows Richmond Public Library card holders to borrow movies, music, audiobooks, ebooks, comics and TV shows – up to six borrows per month. Hoopla content can be accessed on your computer, tablet, or phone – and even your TV! Borrowed content can be streamed immediately, or downloaded to phones or tablets for offline enjoyment later. (Pro tip: download content to your device from any library branch, using RPL wi-fi, and then read, watch, or listen at home).
Last month, Hoopla introduced BingePass – one week of unlimited access to well-curated special content with a single borrow! BingePass started with two content areas, both worthy of deep-dive binges:
50 popular titles for all ages and interests – like Fast Company, HGTV, Popular Mechanics, Time for Kids, Woman’s Day, and more.
The Great Courses Library Collection
Explore more than 300 courses, each containing numerous lectures – access thousands of learning sessions with one borrow.
And now BingePass is growing!
Curiosity Stream will become available later this month, with thousands of documentaries and nonfiction series on topics like: science, history, technology, lifestyle, and more. Plus, there’s great children’s content!
How does BingePass work?
Log in to your Hoopla account using your RPL library card. Look for the BingePass button, and then choose which BingePass you want to borrow. Once you’ve borrowed a BingePass, you’ll be logged into the BingePass partner website or app where you can explore all they offer, directly through their platform. You will be able to access content immediately – so sample as much content (magazines, Great Courses, or documentaries) as you like. You can access the content again and again for seven days by looking for your BingePass in the “borrowed” section of My Hoopla.
