September 29 – “Shostakovich and War 1”

The Chamber Music Society of Central Virginia presents a deep dive into the Third String Quartet by one of history’s most enigmatic composers, Dimitri Shostakovich. This powerful work is paired with music written by clarinetist Bryan Crumpler and readings chosen by writer Angela Lehman.

October 27 – “Mr. Tambourine Man: Seven Poems of Bob Dylan”

Created by John Corigliano and presented by Margaret Taylor Woods, soprano, and Daniel Stipe, piano.

November 3 – “Sigma Alpha Iota”

Presentation of classical and popular selections.

November 17 – “Voyage dans la Nature”

Pianist Hyunja Lee studied in Paris and has been performing to spread French music and culture by holding recital series with French titles.  This year’s concert, “Voyage dans la Nature,” will feature works of Debussy, Daquin, Falla, Rimsky-Korsakov and other composers accompanied by a presentation of images related to her repertoire’s theme.

December 8 – “Richmond Boys Choir”

Richmond Boys Choir returns to present holiday songs.

December 15 – “Biber and Peace”

Music inspired by the Mysteries of the Rosary and more from the Austrian Baroque composer and violin virtuoso Heinrich Ignaz Franz von Biber. With poetry inspired by the words of library patrons collected by writer Angela Lehman.
