Book Club Made Easy!
Richmond Public Library’s Book Club Bag collection has everything you need to get your group reading a discussing.
Here’s how it works:
- Each bag comes with 10 copies of the title you request.
- The checkout period is 6 weeks.
- Any member of your book group who has a Richmond Public Library card can reserve a Book Club Bag up to 3 months in advance.
- Simply submit this online form and a Technical Services staff member will confirm your request!

Frequently Asked Questions
Book Club Bags that are ready to be checked out will be located at the Information Desk at the designated branch.
We ask that you not return the Book Club Bag in the Book Drop Bins outside the libraries, but instead be returned at the Information Desk at any branch. If a bag is placed in a Book Drop and becomes damaged then the patron will be charged the appropriate costs listed below.
Yes! Book Club Bag checkouts can only be renewed if there are no other reservations for that title within 6 weeks of the original due date. Please contact bookclubbag@rva.gov to request a renewal.
If you are the person who checked out the Book Club Bag, you are responsible for the bag itself and all its contents and will be charged the appropriate replacement fee(s) listed below.
Again, if you checked out the Book Club Bag, you are responsible for the bag itself and all its contents. If the Book Club Bag is returned with missing items, or if the bag itself is missing, you will be contacted by library staff and charged the appropriate replacement fee(s) for any item(s) that is/are not returned 1 week after the due date.
