Who can get a library card?
- All residents of the cities: Richmond, Hopewell, Petersburg, and Williamsburg.
- All residents of the counties: Charles City, Chesterfield, Dinwiddie, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, King William, New Kent, Powhatan, and Prince George.
What else can you do with your library card?
- Borrow books, audiobooks, DVDs, and CDs.
- Reserve materials with our online catalog.
- Access public computers and the Internet
- Learn a new language, research your genealogy, read the daily news, and gain financial tips.
- Log into Kanopy, Magster, hoopla, and Libby to access eBooks, eAudiobooks, magazines, movies, and more!
We’re teaming up with Gelati Celesti
Starting September 1st, stop by any Gelati Celesti location to try a scoop (or two) of Rippleās Choco-lit Cherry Pie! This delicious flavor consists of creamy chocolate ice cream, Bing cherries, and pie crust pieces mixed throughout. YUM!
Better yet, anyone who gets a new Richmond Public Library card in September will also get a āfree scoopā bookmark, redeemable at any Richmond area Gelati Celesti location.*

Richmond Public Library in the Community
Throughout the month of September, Richmond Public Library will be getting out into the community and signing people up for library cards on the spot. Youāll see us at local restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, festivals, and even some beauty shops! Rippleās two favorite things to do are read and dance. So, all month long heāll be making the rounds to each of our locations for a special storytime.
