About the Artist
Chief Babs Mohammed was raised in Tamale, in Northern Ghana, where he learned painting alongside traditional cultural art forms. As a member of a cultural performance group, he toured throughout Ghana, sharing the country’s rich heritage through drumming and dance. Since immigrating to the United States in 2011, Babs has continued to celebrate and preserve the stories, traditions, and spirit of his homeland through his artwork, creating pieces that connect audiences with the vibrant culture of Ghana.
