As part of our ongoing commitment to keeping your library account secure, OverDrive will soon require users to enter a PIN or password in addition to their library card number. This new security measure will apply when signing in to Libby, the OverDrive digital library website, and Kanopy.
This change will go into effect Thursday, October 15. You can verify your Libby account in three simple steps:
- Tap Menu.
- Tap Verify Card under “For Your Attention.”
- Tap Verify Card again, then sign in with your library card.

Q) How do I find my pin?
A) Your pin was set at the time you received your card. It is the same one you use to log in to your library account. If you do not know your pin, you may reset it through your online account. Simply visit your account’s sign in page and select “Forgot my PIN.” Or, feel free to call any of our nine Richmond Public Library locations for further assistance.

A) Once you verify your account in Libby, you’ll remain verified until you log out. If you log out, you’ll need to verify your account again the next time you log in.
