Welcome to RPL

We are delighted you are here!

We look forward to welcoming you to your local Richmond Public Library branch. You will find programming for every member of your family, and our Library Staff are always excited to meet our newest neighbors. All of us look forward to helping you get to know our community – and the resources we provide.

This year our Welcome Postcard was designed by the talented illustrator and artist, Shannon Wright.  To learn more about Shannon and her art, please visit her website here. We are excited to work with her to welcome new patrons and visitors to the Richmond Public Library System.

We hope you find the information below helpful as you get to know RPL. We are here to help!

Become an RPL Card Holder

When you’re ready to check out a book for yourself (or to use another of the library’s many free services!), show the front desk this postcard and they’ll happily get you a library card! If there is anything we can do to help make your transition to the neighborhood better, please reach out and let us know!
