Help Us Select the First Design for Our NEW Richmond Public Library Shop.
Yes, you’ve read that right! We’re launching an online shop where we’ll be selling exclusive Richmond Public Library merchandise. Local artist Ash Rudolph will create two exclusive designs, one of which will be featured on T-shirts, bags, mugs, and other fun swag. Throughout September, we’re inviting you, our community, to vote for your favorite design. We’ll be drawing ten lucky voters to win a FREE T-shirt from our new shop.

About the Artist: Ash Rudolph (she/they) is a pyrographer and printmaker based in Richmond, VA. Her work is distinguished by deeply textured wood pieces, and risograph prints in duplication that explore the intersection of the naive and the sacred. Find their work at altargokart.com.
Join in the Fun with Captain Curiosity: Found in the Stars
Let the library propel you to new heights with a hilarious, theatrical extravaganza about art, change, and the science of outer space.
Be careful what you wish for! Moments after Captain Curiosity wishes upon a new star, an alien spaceship appears, whisking him and his prized painting off the planet and into an intergalactic adventure. Separated from his painting and stuck in outer space, Captain Curiosity sets off to get his artwork back!
In this comedic coming-of-age adventure, kids will learn the stunning science of stars, black holes, light, color, and more! Every concept is explored through play, audience participation, and an unforgettable cast of characters, all while engaging kids with questions about the similarities and differences between art and science. Ages 3-10.
