Nominate a Title

We are now accepting book and author nominations for the 2025 YAVA Award!

Criteria for Consideration:

  • The author must reside in Virginia at the time of the book’s publication
  • The book must have been released during 2023
  • The book must have been written for readers in middle or high school
  • The main character must be between 13-19 years of age
  • The book may be fiction, nonfiction, poetry, or graphic novel
  • The book must be available in print format

The winning author will be recognized and receive a cash prize at the 2025 YAVA Award Celebration at Richmond Public Library on April 19, 2025. If you read a YA book that you loved and fits the criteria, please nominate it!
