November 13 is World Kindness Day. While we think every day should be filled with kindness, we won’t miss the opportunity to highlight this occasion. There are many things you can do to spread kindness —pay someone a compliment, hold the door for a stranger, make a meal to share, or introduce someone to your favorite book. The possibilities are endless. Here are a few picture books to inspire our youngest readers to participate in World Kindness Day:

Loving Kindness by Deborah Underwood (2021)

A Small Kindness by Stacy McAnulty (2021)

ABCs of Kindness by Patricia Hegarty (2019)
Maisy’s Big Book of Kindness by Lucy Cousins (2023)

Share Some Kindness, Bring Some Light by Apryl Stott (2020)

The Little Things: A Story About Acts of Kindness by Christian Trimmer (2021)

The Power of One: Every Act of Kindness Counts by Trudy Ludwig (2020)

The Notebook Keeper: A Story of Kindness From the Border by Stephen Briseño (2022)

I Walk With Vanessa: A Story About a Simple Act of Kindness by Kerascoët (2018)
Tani’s New Home: A Refugee Finds Hope & Kindness in America by Tani Adewumi (2022)

As a bonus, here is a printable game of Kindness BINGO to play with your child.

We hope you and your family will be inspired by this post and let today’s acts of kindness lead to every day being World Kindness Day.
