In case you missed it, we recently added magazines to our OverDrive collection. Now, in addition to ebooks and audiobooks, you can access over 5,000 popular magazine titles including Time, National Geographic, and Rolling Stone, all via your Libby app. The best part  — magazines are unlimited simultaneous use, meaning you never have to wait to borrow a copy and they don’t count toward your checkout limits. Excited? We are too! Let’s dive in a little deeper to help you get the most from this new offering.

What magazines are available?

  • Popular magazines including Good Housekeeping, Vanity Fair, and The New Yorker
  • Special interest titles such as PC World, Bon Appetit, Kiplinger’s Personal Finance, Popular Mechanics, and Women’s Fitness
  • Special publications such as the Ultimate Taylor Swift Fan Pack, 50 Years of Hip Hop, and Star Wards – Return of the Jedi Turns 40!
  • Magazines in several languages including Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, German, and French
  • And, most series go back over three years

How do I check out OverDrive magazines?

  • One tap to read: When inside the Libby app, select the menu button then limit the format to magazines. Select show titles then tap to open a magazine that interests you. This will automatically check it out for you.
  • Magazine Rack: This special section on your shelf will house all the magazines you have currently borrowed.
  • Subscribe option: Find a magazine series you really enjoy? Select the subscribe option and you’ll automatically be notified when a new issue comes out.

Even more to love!

In case you need just a few more reasons to start using OverDrive magazines, here are some other things we love about this new collection…

  • OverDrive magazines isn’t just for adults. There are lots of options for kids and teens including TIME for kids, Highlights, Storytime, Scoop, and National Geographic Kids.
  • Don’t spend time in the grocery checkout line catching up on celebrity gossip. Enjoy Us Weekly, Star, OK!, Hello, and InTouch from the comfort of your home.
  • With Article View in Libby, patrons can resize the text for a more customized reading experience.
  • Since OverDrive magazines are located within the Libby app, you can enjoy a streamlined reading experience with your ebooks and audiobooks.
