Introducing … The Bookologist

Posted about 4 months ago by Meg Raymond

Public libraries are all about connecting books and readers.  It’s in our DNA!  Browsing the shelves or the online catalog can be rewarding, but the choices can be … overwhelming.  Sometimes you just need a little help finding titles that you really want to read.

Richmond Public Library can help!  The Bookologist is a brand-new “bespoke” readers advisory service for adults and teens.  Tell us your favorite titles and authors, and the types of books you love (or don’t love!) by filling out a short online formRPL Bookologists will carefully hand-craft a list of titles just for you.

Whether you’re stuck in a reading rut, looking to read outside your comfort zone, or just looking for great suggestions, The Bookologist can help.

If you’re looking for juvenile book lists, please stay tuned! The Bookologists specializing in the younger set are getting ready to join the mix soon, so check back! In the meantime, visit our Kids Section or contact your Local branch and the children’s staff will assist you.

If I'm not librarianing, or chasing one of my plethora of dogs around the yard, I probably have my nose buried in a book. I like all kinds of books. Regency romances - love 'em. Gory police procedurals - yes, ma'am. Historical fiction - please, and thank you. Heavy "literary" titles - shhhh, I may not have actually finished some of those! Off-beat, warped, slightly askew books - oh, yes, indeedy. Violent supernatural fantasy - why not? Chick lit, hen lit, lad lit - yeah, yeah, yeah. What have you read? Need a suggestion, or ten?
